To reach Tirupati, the cheapest way is to reach Renigunta/Tirupati Railway Station from your nearest railway station. Tirupati Airport is around 40 kilometers from the temple.
There are two routes: the Alipiri track, which is 15 km from Renigunta Railway Station, and the Mangapuram track, which is 30 km from Renigunta Railway Station. The Alipiri track takes about three to four hours, but it’s easier to climb as compared to Mangapuram. The Mangapuram track takes around two hours but has a steeper climb. At the entry point, you’ll need to deposit your luggage and get a token to collect it later.
While going to Tirumala Devasthanam, you’ll see an idol resembling the face of Tirupati Balaji. Devotees visiting Tirupati always stop here for a quick visit. Most of the private stays in Tirumala are close to the Tirupati Devasthanam. There are also many institutions where you can stay.
In Tirumala, first visit the Varaha swamy Temple, the oldest temple here, built before the Tirupati Balaji Temple. After visiting Varaha swamy Temple, we have to visit Tirupati Balaji Temple. On weekends, it may take longer.
